Last Post: I grew up Catholic. Renounced it when I was 18 because we had a really lousy priest at our parish (grew up in a very small town in SW PA, and very few catholics in the area). He said that I couldn--apost--t go to Catholic high school because I skipped 9th grade sunday school, my mother had no business reading the Bible because she was a woman, and during confession, he would snicker and laugh. He smoked, drank, and swore - alot. Made me realize that it was all a bunch of crap - at least the rules were. I prefer smaller non-demonational churches. usually, they rent the space they use, and the pastors have --quote--day--quote-- jobs. The accounts are open to any member of the church to view to make sure their money is going to where they say it goes: i.e. supporting a specific missionary in another country, helping clean up inner city parks, etc.
